About Jenn Will
As a child, I was most comfortable dancing, studying, and being in nature. I grew up in rural Mississippi with acres of woods as my backyard. My mom took me to my first dance class when I was three years old, and although I wasn’t calling it ‘bodywork’ at the time, growing up with dance allowed me to develop a sense and understanding of myself through conscious movement. The deep peace I felt in nature inspired my study of biology and anthropology in college, where I worked to understand how non-“western” cultures approached health and happiness.
I began a yoga practice at age 18 (1993), and found there was a whole philosophy about self-awareness through mindful movement! The healing power of yoga and dance sparked my interest in other forms of bodywork, and I decided to dive into the healing arts world myself, completing the Integrated (holistic) program at the Atlanta School of Massage in the US in 2002.
I took my first Thai massage course that year @ ASM and was hooked. It felt to me like the perfect blend of massage and yoga. I’ve studied with many American Thai Massage teachers through the years, and have spent several months in Thailand, training with master teachers there. I’ve completed a 390-hour Certified Advanced Practitioner Training course from ITM in Chiang Mai, including a teacher-training program. I like to combine my love of travel with the study of healing arts from around the world. When at home, I have a full-time massage practice and teach private yoga sessions in Bloomington, IN, USA. I teach several Thai massage workshops per year in Bloomington & beyond.
In my yoga practice, I’ve explored and studied with many teachers, including those in the traditions of Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, and more. I feel that all forms of yoga serve to lead us to more clearly hear our own inner voice. I received Yoga Alliance’s 200-hour teacher registration/certification in 2005.
